TY NEWS
DCU Open Day
On Friday, 15th November our TYs travelled to Dublin City University to participate in the DCU Open
Day, attending career and course talks and generally getting a sense of college life around the campus.
Such a day always promises to be informative, and it is an ideal opportunity for TY’s to explore a
college campus as they prepare to be make important subject choices in the weeks ahead.
Students got to see first-hand the different courses of study as they attended the course information
lectures. Students also witnessed the recreational aspect of the college by visiting the Student Union
Hub, sports facilities and scientific labs.
FET Pathways Outdoor Pursuits Course
Eleven of our TY’s took the opportunity to do a 3-day Outdoor Pursuits Team Building Day in
Baltinglass Outdoor Education Centre on Wednesdays in November. They have had both a theory and
practical element to this course which gives students a taste of all the career opportunities available in
this industry.
