Young Social Innovators
Our YSI class has been very busy this academic year with their project entitled ...
‘Take a Stand, Change the Band’.
They are focusing on the current Junior Cycle (JC) grading system and the overall negative effect it is
having on the morale of both students and teachers.
There are 3 main changes which they would like to see to the current system:
• The introduction of a new grade band
• Allowing students to access the percentage achieved in each subject
• Allowing students to view their corrected scripts
They are currently contacting our local members of government and planning a national day of
protest on this issue.
