Junior Camogie
A noticeably young junior camogie team failed to qualify from their group in the Leinster Junior
Championship this year after losing to Presentation, Wexford and FCJ, Bunclody. As mentioned this is
an extremely young side who stepped to a level well beyond what they were used to. In the coming
years there is no doubt that this group will bring silverware back to Coláiste Bhríde.
Minor Camogie
The 1st and 2nd year camogie team developed further as a team this year after their progress in the
previous academic year. After a comprehensive victory over Gorey Community School in the first
round and a narrow loss to Loreto, Wexford in the second they were left with a winner takes all game
against Coláiste Bríde, Enniscorthy to qualify from the group. This was a very cagey and scrappy game
but the Carnew girls won comfortably in the end and qualified to play Callan Community School in the
quarter final.
Like their senior counterparts early in the year, luck was not on their side with many close calls going
against the Carnew ladies. However, like all great teams, they battled hard and showed considerable
pride in the jersey throughout. There will certainly be bright days ahead for this team.
