Senior Hurling
The Coláiste Bhríde senior hurling team won the south Leinster hurling final defeating Ferrybank on a
scoreline of 2-19 to 2-5. It was a huge achievement for this group. They then progressed to a Leinster
semi-final against Boyne CS which they unfortunately lost on penalties. The game had ended ended 318 to 4-15 after extra time. A tough ending but the team can be proud of their year and we would
particularly like to thank 6th years for their contribution to hurling in the school.
First Year Football and Hurling
The first-year boys hurling and football squads had a positive
debut year in Coláiste Bhríde. Our hurling team qualified for a
Leinster Semi-final following a good south Leinster win over
Ferrybank CC from Kilkenny.
Unfortunately, they came up against a strong side from St.
Patrick's Navan in the semi-final and despite some great
hurling, were not victorious on the day.
Our football team also had a great year. Victories in the early
rounds over St Kevin’s Dunlavin, Scoil Conglais Baltinglass
and CCA Kilcoole led to qualification for the Wicklow A final
which was played in Echelon Park Aughrim against St
Kevin's Dunlavin. This looked like a tight game on paper
and so it proved.
