COLÁISTE BHRÍDE NEWSLETTER SUMMER EDITION
SPORT
Coláiste Bhríde started better with a goal but by half time the scores were level 2-5 to 1-8. The Coláiste
Bhríde side started the 2nd half well, scoring four unanswered points and then added a goal to give
them a good lead. Dunlavin came back with a goal and a penalty soon after which turned the game on
its head. Coláiste Bhríde worked themselves into a good lead again before Dunlavin struck for their 4th
major. The Carnew lads dug in and kept themselves ahead finishing strongly and taking the win on a
5-10 to 4-10 scoreline. Well done to these fine young men who worked hard all year to ensure back to
back 1st Year football championshipsÿ.
Golf
Coláiste Bhríde held its inaugural student golf competition
in Coollattin Golf club on Tuesday May 6th. The competition
was split into two categories, those with Golf Ireland club
handicaps and those with no handicap. We were blessed to
have great weather, as over forty golfers took part in all. The
scoring was excellent on what is a beautifully presented
course. A huge thanks to everyone in Coollattin golf club
and in The Darach Bistro for hosting us on the day. A special
thanks also to Lady Captain and our former principal Linda
Dunne for sponsoring our lovely new perpetual trophy for
the overall winner.
