TRIPS
These hands-on learning approaches
mirror Ireland's own emphasis on
practical agricultural education and
public health outreach.
Throughout our journey, we saw firsthand how climate change is affecting
Gambian communities. However, the
resilience and determination of the
people we met with was truly
inspiring. Organisations like Self-Help
Africa play a crucial role in supporting
farmers, promoting sustainable
agriculture, and empowering women.
This experience reminded us of the
importance of sustainable practices
both in The Gambia and at home. As
we reflect on our trip, we are more
committed than ever to advocate for
environmental sustainability and
community-driven solutions.
Thank you to everyone who made this
journey possible!!
Agricultural Science Trip
This term, our 6th year Agricultural Science classes made a
trip to Kildalton Agricultural College for Agri Aware's Farm
Walk and Talk series.
The purpose of the day was to make first hand
connections with the concepts of animal husbandry, farm
safety, grassland management and horticulture.
Staff of the college were on hand to answer questions.
