ERASMUS+
Home Economics Erasmus Trip to Sorrento
This year thirty-four third- and sixth-year students travelled to Sorrento on a Home Economics cultural
exchange this term. The students enjoyed five days in the Italian sun while experiencing a range of
Home Economics related activities. They spent two evenings at a cookery school where they made
homemade pizza and gnocchi. They enjoyed their own cooking and tasted some local cuisine,
including tiramisu and bruschetta. Students also enjoyed a cheese demonstration and
participated in a gelato making course. One evening was spent bowling in Naples.
Students explored the markets on St. Valentine’s Day and watched the procession
through the streets of Sorrento which took place to honour Saint Anthony.
A trip to Pompeii and a guided tour around the archaeological site
was the highlight for many. We look forward to many more
Home Economics trips in the future and are grateful for
how accessible such trips have become because
of our Erasmus+ funding.
