ETB Ethos
The word ‘ethos’ is used to describe the beliefs, values and practices underpinning the life of any
school. ETB schools are state, co-educational, multi-denominational schools underpinned by the core
values of: Excellence in Education, Care, Equality, Community and Respect. Here at Coláiste Bhríde we
live out the values underpinning the ETB ethos in a meaningful way by creating experiences and
opportunities for students to flourish and develop both inside and outside the classroom. This year we
created a calendar of events for the whole school to participate in starting with friendship week,
mental health awareness week, Anti-bullying Awareness Week, Think Languages, ‘CBC Celebrates’
week, everyday counts month, safer internet week, Seachtain na Gaeilge, mother languages week,
World Book Day, Women in Sport Week, red flag against racism, neurodiversity week, ETB ethos and
wellbeing week.
School Musical
This March over 100 students braved the audition process for a role in our
upcoming musical, Disney’s The Little Mermaid. The talent on display was extremely
impressive and the excitement was palpable. Our show will once again be directed
by Ms Sinéad Finlay, ably assisted by newcomer to the team Ms Yvette Deacon.
We are also delighted to announce Mr Richard O’Toole as our Music Director,
a past pupil and an accomplished actor who needs no introduction.
So, grab your flippers and armbands and join us Under the Sea,
this December 11th, 12th and 13th.
