Due to the exceptional quality of work, the Overall Winner title was shared by two outstanding
projects. Ruby Gregan and Millie Gregan impressed with their investigation, “Investigating the Effect of
Fast Fashion Dye on the Growth of Plants”, while Cameron Delaney stood out with his project,
“Powering Education with Solar Energy”. Both projects stood above the rest thanks to their excellent
data analysis and high-quality presentations.
Other standout projects and competitors who captured the judge’s attention and earned top
recognition in their respective class groups are listed in the table below.
Congratulations to our outstanding students who proudly represented Coláiste Bhríde at
SciFest@College in DCU. Transition Year students, joined by Calvin Matthews (2nd Year) and Odhran
D’Arcy (1st Year), showcased an impressive fifteen projects across a wide range of scientific disciplines.
Each group presented their research to the judges, who were thoroughly impressed by their
investigations.
A special commendation was presented to Odhran D’Arcy, who earned the Technology Merit Award
for his innovative reaction time testing app, featured in his project “Speed Trials: The Farmer vs. The
Gamer.” Congratulations also to Ruby and Milly Gregan awarded Runner-Up Best Project Award for
their project titled “Investigating the Effect of Fast Fashion Dye on the Growth of Plants”. The sisters
have been invited to compete at the Scifest National Finals in September.
