Killary
129 TY students travelled to the Killary Fjord on the Galway/Mayo border for 4 days of outdoor
adventure activities on Tuesday, 25th March. They participated in a variety of group activities including
gorge walking, giant SUP, aerial park, turf challenge, Killary challenge, raft building, archery,
orienteering and climbing tower while also engaging in evening activities.
This included a drumming workshop and a Céilí, as well as board games and a quiz. At the end of a
fantastic week, Killary Adventure Centre staff agreed to host a bonfire for our students. This is not
something Killary do on a regular basis and was outside the contract hours of some of their staff who
volunteered to supervise. This is a clear indication of how pleasant and cooperative these students
were as a group for the duration of the week.
