Science Week.
'Reptile Zoo to You' visited Þrst year students in Coláiste Bhríde for Science week where they got up
close and personal with a variety of turtles, tortoises, snakes, lizards, tarantula and stick insects.
As part of Science Week, Ms. Rickerby’s class made detailed models of cells.

visits Coláiste Bhríde
MEP Cynthia Ní Mhurchú visited our school
in September to speak with all 3rd year
students about her role in the European
Parliament and her career.
The talk supported the CSPE curriculum,
giving students valuable Þrst-hand insight
into European and Irish political
institutions. The session was interactive,
with students asking a range of thoughtful
questions.
Cynthia also met the Gaelbhratach team,
who outlined their completed initiatives
and upcoming plans, and later spoke with
last year’s YSI group, now participating in
the YSI Elevate programme. She offered
guidance as the students prepare to launch
their new campaign for change.
We are very grateful to Cynthia for taking
time out of her schedule to meet with our
students and staff. 3rd year students will
now complete a CSPE project based on
what they learned, forming part of their
Junior Cycle CBA.
