Visit by the Canadian Ambassador to Ireland
We were delighted to welcome the Canadian Ambassador to Ireland, Mr. Dennis King, to Coláiste
Bhríde in early November. During his visit, the Ambassador met with our newly formed Student
Council, school staff, and members of the local community. He was accompanied by local T.D. Mr.
Malcolm Byrne.
Our students took part in an engaging Q&A session, discussing topics such as Irish-Canadian cultural
and ancestral connections, as well as the importance of student and civic leadership. Mr. King also
learned about the signiÞcant emigration to Canada during the Famine and answered questions on
the proposed Canada–EU trade agreement.
