Athena Legacy Partner Award
The school received the Athena Legacy Partner
Award, which was awarded in recognition of
the weekly academic tracking and results
analysis that has been carried out over the past
several years.
The data collected has been used to motivate
and support students throughout their
learning journey and is considered very
valuable by both parents and teachers.
Positive Mental Health Talk - Oisín McConville
In November, County Wicklow senior manager Oisín McConville was warmly welcomed to the school.
He spoke to the senior students, during which the importance of maintaining positive mental health
was highlighted. The importance of communicating with others, especially during difÞcult periods,
was emphasised. His own inspirational life story, describing how his life had been transformed, was
shared with the students.
After the presentation, a meeting was held with the senior girls’ football team, during which words of
advice were given ahead of the senior Leinster Þnal, scheduled to take place before Christmas.
Thanks are extended to Oisín, whose visit to Carnew was made possible by the time he set aside
before travelling on to Ballinakill for his county training session with the Wicklow players. Appreciation
is also expressed to Martin Fitzgerald, former county chairman of Wicklow GAA, who was present to
accompany Oisín on his visit to Coláiste Bhríde.
